Pretty Things

Hi guys, long time I know, and I know you definitely missed me!

So I actually have been really busy with work and trying to save up to go to Turkey, and lodging form after form to bring my mother in law back here! My grandma hasn't been too well of late so after work I go there and check up on her and come home and sleep and repeat the process all over again.  I applied to be downgraded to casual work just because I feel like I don't get enough time with my partner, and I don't have enough time to cook or clean as much as I'd like to.

Anyway I have 2 weeks off so I'm quite happy.

As for crafting, I haven't done much, I still have 2 orders to complete but theres no rush on them thank god haha.

I have some new things up on Etsy so go check them out!!

You can check them out by clicking (HERE) (HERE) (HERE) and finally (HERE)

Where did I go??

Well well well hello all 70 of you!  Its been a while since I have blogged, and for good reason- I've had some orders!  First off I have this order (that needs to be finished by the 8th of July) for a lady in my area with 3 children and one on the way (obviously she's busier than I am!)  So she asked for all this baby stuff, and some turkish slippers and apparently shes going to make me a millionaire...we can only hope.  I have no photos of what I have made for her but I promise I'll upload some after I've finished.

Another 2 of the orders came from the same person, a lovely friend of mine who lives all the way over in Utah who wants an Igne oyasi scarf (more specifically a scarf with EFE oya on it- which are huge sun like disks) and a pack of large and small oya flowers and some leaves for an upcoming project she has.

So I'm extremely happy I have these orders, but sheesh I'm flat out!

As of late also I have uploaded some patterns to ravelry- which you can find HERE - I'm officially a "designer" woohoo!

I have also uploaded 2 new scarves onto Etsy which you can find HERE and HERE

I've been naughty and haven't blogged! But I have been busy!

And this is why!  I haven't blogged, or been on etsy (except to check if I'd sold anything lol) or anything!  I thought I'd give myself a little break and time to make a whole load of stuff (since I went to a market and wanted enough things to sell) and this is what I have left that you haven't seen before, so obviously I must have made alot haha.  The market stall was ok, I'd do it again, but most of the people were more intent on complimenting me for my work, and not actually buying it.  I made more than I payed for the stall so I guess thats a win for me?  So lets work through all these photos and hopefully get back to normal with the etsy'ing blogging, facebooking and all those other technological things!

This is one of my igne oyasi projects this year.  I'm adamant that I'm going to make a scarf with these flowers on it, even if it takes me 365 days to complete.  The flowers are apple flowers and I love the colours and they go excellently with the colours of the scarf.  I think on each side of the scarf there will be atleast 7 or 8 flowers so thats around 28 or 36 flowers in total.

Oya examples from top down:  Tatted, bead wheel of fortune, crochet, crochet green and pink flowers, crochet daisy, crochet "beard", crochet halay, crochet wheel of fortune (this is an alternate version with the oya stitch yillan kemigi incorperated which is the same stitch you can make oya bracelets with), crochet fingers with nailpolish.

So thats what I've been up to in the past month or so, and I do hope you'll forgive me for my lateness in blogging.  Id like to also thank everyone who has read my blog or followed me.  I'm over 12,000 views now and over 50 followers!  I'm very happy and excited about that.

I will blog soon, I promise!

Peace x

Oya lace escapades for 2012!

Its been a very busy start to the year for me, as most of you know I was doing placement at an aged care facility and needed 120 hours completed in order to receive my certificate.  So that's out of the way for the time being, and now all I need to do is finish 1 and a 1/2 work books and I'm done and I'll have my certificate III in Aged care and Home and Community Care!  Excitedddd!

So thats why I haven't been blogging so much, but I have been crafting!  I've made a couple more crochet oya lace scarves, some bracelets and 2 more Lif (washcloths.)  I've also been playing around with beads and other things so just for the time being I'm going to post the Oya scarves, because I've put them up on ETSY so go over and have a look if you're interested!!

This Oya is called "Katmer Cicegi"  I love the way it looks and I'm really proud of myself.

This is another one of my newest oya scarves, I think I picked really good colours to go with the
scarf to make it stand out.

This one was a little bit harder but still came out really nice.

This oya is pretty easy, but takes alot of time.  The flowers are all tatted, and then
crocheted on top by a chain and then added to the scarf.

All these scarves and many more are available on my Etsy Store
